My Name is Nadine Owens Burton.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me and my business. Owens Burton Consulting began from my need to practice what I preach. Throughout my career and my many opportunities to educate and advise others, there has been one thing that I have always encouraged...finding your passion.
For years I have tried to motivate individuals to not just developed themselves for a job, but to tap into their passions and find a career that they love so much that they would do it for free. I believe that if you truly love what you do, it will not feel like a job and you will feel happy going to work every day. If you are lucky enough to find your passion and it is also something you can make a career of, you will be happier than the majority of working adults in our society. I wanted to be one of those lucky few.
As I have made my way through my career -- as an admissions counselor and university administrator in student affairs, a teacher and most recently as a director of a school readiness program in a non-profit, community action agency -- I found I was most energized when I was before a group, imparting my knowledge and motivating action. I love what I'm doing when I'm before a group and it shows. I have a commitment to be both informative and entertaining. I myself have been the victim of dry and boring presenters, so I'm determined to never be one of them.
One day I decided as much as I loved my job as a director, I would love to "go to work" doing that which I absolutely love -- training and public speaking. Hence Owens Burton Consulting was born.
